Supreme Court Hearings:
On May 26, 2009, President Obama nominated Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Judge Sotomayor is currently a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, a position she has held since 1998. The Senate Judiciary Committee began confirmation hearings on her Supreme Court nomination on July 13.
